You don’t have to just build boats – there are lots of things to do and make and something bespoke is often quite fun and unique. I normally work my way into things, maybe build a prototype in softwood or a mockup to see if it fits/works and then decide on what joints are needed and where. It is often a matter of ideas building and then modifying to get to the finished article – which often I would then like to build again as there is a better way to do it…… But it has to be done and finished otherwise people will be disappointed, so it is a case of make haste slowly and deliver as soon as you can.
