Whitehall Build

Some time ago I bought a tree from Brodick Castle, planked and sticked the planks and now that I have time, I have started building a Whitehall pulling boat.  The table of offsets was taken from John Gardner’s excellent book and lofting was completed in May 2020.  Next was cutting out and making the frames and build jig which will be mounted on a wheeled trolley so that I can move it around the workshop and occasionally, when the weather is OK, I can push part of the build jig out of the workshop door to make room for work with large components.  The planking will be of 10mm larch strip planked but in reality it approximates to glued carvel.  Planks will be screwed and glued at each frame.
